Sheryl Roberts studied at Jacob Kramer School of Art, then graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University.
Several years of teaching in schools and colleges led her in 2001, to become a full time artist, working from her studio in Hyde Park.
Sheryl’s work is an emotional response to her experiences in the remote yet vast places she loves to visit.
I spend as much time as I can revisiting places, again and again observing the changing light, colours and moving clouds, striving to build a sense of place and belonging. I paint with brushes and pallet knives from memory and photographs – gradually building up thin layers of alkyds, oils and acrylics often painting with both left and right hands.
Sheryl’s work has been much acclaimed through exhibition and private commission throughout the UK and Europe.
